| La canción de los Rolling Stones SATISFACTION fue seleccionada como el mejor tema jamás interpretado en la historia del rock, según un sondeo realizado en Nueva York. El sondeo, que abarcó los 100 mejores temas de rock, fue realizado por el canal musical de cable VH1 entre 700 personas vinculadas a la industria de la música en Estados Unidos. Entre los músicos que votaron figuraron Bono, del grupo U2, Johnny Cash, Art Garfunkel, Bonnie Raitt, Lou Reed y Curtis Mayfield. Los Beatles estuvieron representados en la lista por el mayor número de temas de un mismo intérprete o grupo de intérpretes: nueve canciones. La primera de ellas, "Hey Jude" quedó en noveno puesto. En la lista aparecen cinco cortes de los Stones y cuatro de Elvis Presley y Led Zeppelin respectivamente. Bob Dylan estuvo representado con tres, además de su composición "All Along the Watchtower", que los encuestados prefirieron en la voz de Jimi Hendrix. El tema más antiguo de la lista es "Rock Around the Clock" de Bill Haley y sus Comets, publicado en 1955, y el más reciente fue "Smells Like Teen Spirit", del grupo Nirvana, publicado en 1991. El único tema netamente latino que figura en la lista es "La Bamba", en interpretación de Ritchie Valens, que ocupa el número 98. |

LAS 100 MEJORES CANCIONES POP DE LS HISTORIA La revista RollingStone publicó la segunda entrega de las 500 mejores canciones de todos los tiempos, elegidas por un jurado de cantantes cinco-estrellas, músicos, productores, figuras de la industria, críticos y, por supuesto, de compositores. Bob Dylan con Like a Rolling Stone se lleva el primer lugar como mejor tema. Le sigue otra canción (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction también de los Stones y en tercer puesto Imagine de John Lennon. Bandas como Nirvana se encuentran entre los 10 primeros, en el noveno lugar Smells Like Teen Spirit (el clásico de los clásicos) y una de las cosas que no entiendo es porqué no está en la lista un tema como November Rain de los Guns N’ Roses, que si salen en las últimas posiciones con Paradise City (no me gusta tanto) y Welcome to the Jungle otro tema que me gusta pero… ¿cómo se van a olvidar de November Rain ?. 2.
